Spuds and Corn
By Theresa Randall
A few years back at Yakima Meadows, I had picked up a horse to train
for a farmer in Othello. My husband picked the horse up and brought it to
the track. As he entered the gate, he announced to the guard the horse's
name and the trainer, "Spuds and Corn, for Theresa Smith."
The guard told him, "Oh we don't keep track of that, just the
horses."
No, the guard wasn't Betty!
